Experience nature's bounty at Green Valley Farm
Green Valley Farm is a 120-acre family-owned organic farm dedicated to sustainable agriculture and community education. Established in 1985, we've been committed to growing the highest quality produce while preserving the land for future generations. Our farming practices focus on soil health, biodiversity, and water conservation, ensuring that our ecosystem thrives alongside our crops.
At Green Valley, we believe farming is more than just growing food—it's about fostering connections between people and the land. That's why we open our gates to visitors, offering hands-on experiences that demonstrate the importance of sustainable food systems. From our farm-to-table restaurant to our educational programs, everything we do is guided by our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Green Valley Farm was founded by the Johnson family on 40 acres of previously conventional farmland. With a vision of creating a sustainable farm that would heal the land, they began the transition to organic practices.
We received our first organic certification and expanded to 75 acres. This period marked our first community-supported agriculture (CSA) program, connecting local families directly to their food source.
The farm launched its educational programs, opening the Farm School to teach sustainable farming practices to the next generation. We added our first solar panels, beginning our journey toward energy independence.
Expanded to our current 120 acres and introduced regenerative agriculture techniques. Our farm-to-table restaurant opened, showcasing the exceptional quality of truly fresh, organic produce.
Green Valley Farm continues to innovate with carbon sequestration projects, on-site renewable energy, and advanced water conservation systems. We host thousands of visitors annually and supply produce to local restaurants and markets.

Our comprehensive water management system combines rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and precision drip irrigation to reduce water usage by 70% compared to conventional farming. We've created a series of swales and catchment ponds that not only conserve water but also create diverse wildlife habitats throughout the property. This project serves as a demonstration site for farmers looking to implement similar water-wise techniques.

We've dedicated 30 acres to native plant restoration, creating corridors of habitat for pollinators, beneficial insects, and local wildlife. Our biodiversity project includes hedgerows, wildflower meadows, and wetland rehabilitation. Since beginning this initiative, we've documented over 120 bird species, 45 butterfly species, and countless beneficial insects that help maintain natural pest balance on the farm, reducing the need for any intervention.

Through innovative soil management practices, we're actively pulling carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in our soil. Our techniques include no-till farming, cover cropping, composting, and managed rotational grazing. Scientific testing shows we've increased soil organic matter by 8% in just five years, effectively sequestering approximately 5 tons of carbon per acre annually while simultaneously improving soil fertility and crop resilience.
